Your First Month
- Try and find somewhere to live or someone to live with. Check the Cern market and housing service regularly and go and see any you are interested in. Don't feel obliged to take the first place you see though - if it isn't right then don't live there
- If you are planning to own a car - now is the time. Buy and insure your car and get used to the French style of driving
- Get yourself into a good working pattern. Cern can be a very laid back place to work but it still has deadlines. So be disciplined and avoid putting off the work to the last minute. You will be grateful you did later on.
